Going Nuts in Boston: Michael Voris on the Scandal at St. Cecilia’s

July 13, 2011 by Joe Sacerdo

Michael Voris at RealCatholicTV just came out with this outstanding video describing the situation at St. Cecilia’s in Boston.

Among the more memorable lines in the video is the following at the beginning:

Is there no end to the insanity in the church these days that is allowed, defended, and even promoted by so many dioceses bishops and chanceries.  Front and center is the horrific scandal and stench emanating from the Archdiocese of Boston.

The petition to Rome is being updated this evening. Anyone who signed previously should come back on Thursday to sign the new one, and if you haven’t signed previously, please do sign it Thursday.

The silence from the Archdiocese is deafening. You would think that if for no other reason than this story becoming bigger and more far reaching than when the Cardinal put out his last comment on the subject that he would come forward to reiterate the Church’s position on the sinful nature of homosexual behavior and the call to chasity.

….And clarify the situation at St. Cecilia’s in clear, certain, and complete terms – not innuendo. Please Cardinal O’Malley, clarify the increasingly conflicting information out there for the sake of your flock and the salvation of souls.

Karen: Their silence is an outrage that defies description. The article below provides some history on how we got to this point:

THE USCCB’S ‘MINISTRY TO PERSONS WITH HOMOSEXUAL INCLINATION’
More Magical Moments With Our Bishops

    March 2007By Randy Engel

The final vote on the Guidelines was 194 in favor, 37 against, with one abstention.

To be fair, chances were slim to none that a document from the powerful USCCB Committee on Doctrine, crafted in large part by Archbishop (now Cardinal) Levada, the current Prefect for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the second most powerful office at the Vatican, was going to get sent back to committee, much less voted down by the American bishops. After all, “gay” ministries (Courage and Encourage are not included in the definition of “gay” ministries) have been around for more than 30 years — 37 years if we include the notorious Dignity, the model for all future “gay” ministries.

Yet the Guidelines provide no background or objective analysis of the impact “gay” ministries have had on the life of the Church. Still more remarkable, not a single bishop asked the Chairman of the Committee on Doctrine to produce this critical information as part of the discussion on the document. The assumption that “gay” ministries, in principle, are good and should continue to be supported by the American bishops was never challenged. The document’s proponents were happy to quibble with the scant opposition over text rather than focus on the moral destruction these “ministries” have wrought on Catholic parishes, the diocesan priesthood, and religious life. Most “gay” ministries are about this:

    - “Gay” ministries are “inclusive” — that is, they cater to a wide range of sexual perverts in addition to sodomites and lesbians. These include bisexuals, transsexuals, transgendered persons, transvestites, sadomasochists, and others.

    - “Gay” ministries subvert authentic Church teachings on faith and morals.

    - “Gay” ministries recruit — like the Army — especially among vulnerable teens. They give a new meaning to “youth outreach.”

    - “Gay” ministries exploit parish resources, financial and otherwise.

    - “Gay” ministries have access to corridors of power in the U.S. Church, including the USCCB — access that is routinely denied to opponents of the Homosexual Collective, such as Roman Catholic Faithful.

    - “Gay” ministries, especially at the leadership level, do not provide programs for chaste living.

    - “Gay” ministries systematically strip parishioners of every vestige of natural revulsion the normal person experiences when initially confronted by sexual perversion. Alexander Pope captured the dangers of “gay” ministries when he wrote:

Vice is a monster of so frightful mien,
    As to be hated needs but to be seen;
Yet seen too oft, familiar with her face,
We first endure, then pity, then embrace.

The U.S. bishops do not need these Guidelines. They need a step-by-step manual on how to defund and dismantle “gay” ministries. And this, dear reader, is something the USCCB will never provide.
    ***********************************

I suspect that faxes/letters/e-mails to the hierarchy will have little to impact. They have been at this now for forty years and it is now institutionalized. Remember when New Ways Ministry was ordered to cease and desist by George? Well, the website is up and running and James Martin SJ is a frequent contributor, as he is to the St. Cecilia church bulletin. Good to know, huh?

    Maria,
To fill in a little more history; This from George Weigel …
    http://www.firstthings.com/article/2011/01/the-end-of-the-bernardin-era

“Bernardin’s sustained influence on the conference’s approach to public policy was frequently linked to the considerable impact of the man who became one of the NCCB/USCC’s most influential staff members: the Rev. J. Bryan Hehir, a Boston priest with a Harvard doctorate who arrived in 1973. Hehir and Bernardin shared an ecclesiology (sympathetic to the progressive wing of the post-conciliar spectrum, but careful not to appear radical); a politics (similarly tilted à gauche, but always with an eye toward “the center”); and a determination to put the NCCB and the USCC “in play” in American public life and keep it there.”

I think Weigel is far too kind.
This modernist katholic parallel imposter church continues to prowl and devour. Sodomite marriage is just one of the tentacles on this monster.

The USCCB absent response to Gay Marriage in NY was telling. Its over.
Test your local priest for orthodoxy, if he give you attitude, move on.

LCIB–Sometimes I think: this cannot be real. And, yet, it is. The battle, it would seem, was lost a long time ago; however, our Lord demands that we fight on against this trunami of sin that threatens to wipe us out. But, remember, “we are called not to be successful. We are called to be faithful”. He will not ask us if we won the war. He will want to know that we fought the good fight, right?

    http://www.renewamerica.com/columns/abbott/060818

I just wonder:how could men consecrated to God become so bereft of all that is holy. How could the

LCIB–Sorry. My last thought was; How could they let this happen?

Joe: What happened to the letter? I thougth you wanted us to sign it today.

  6. on July 15, 2011 at 11:25 am TheLastCatholicinBoston

How could they let it happen?
All it takes for evil to prevail of for good men to do nothing.

There is a parallel church at this point, especially in Boston. Outside observers see it far better than us. You know the story; if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck…The homosexuals in the priesthood and ‘celebrate sodomy’ are more of a symptom of the problem at this point. If you consider the St. Cecelia’s issue in any kind of historical context it is pretty clear we are in de facto schism. The root cause is the heresy of modernism and the modernist in positions of power. I would bet that Fr. Hehir himself might actually admit he was a modernist at this point. If he did He certainly would have little to worry about, he has a Cardinal running defense for him.

What I will never understand is why Rome has tolerated it for lo these many decades…

    • on July 15, 2011 at 1:49 pm TheLastCatholicinBoston

As bad as it is consider; Of all Catholics walking the earth today only between 6% – 9% live within the United States. The Church of Rome deals with things like human trafficking and genocide on a regular basis. Through the majesterium there are provisions within The Church to deal with problems within The Church. When enemies prowl within they are difficult to root out especially when they are aligned and work hand in hand with enemies out side of the Church. See the quasi-canonization of Ted Kennedy the abortion rights sweetheart.

The Heresy of modernism which we are witnessing in full bloom here with the celebrate sodomy event can be very elusive. Relativistic arguments can be compelling and when faith has been watered down to – ‘just be nice’ for a generation or more people can truly be spiritually ignorant.

LCIB is right about Modernism. Cardinal Sean certainly exhibits signs of being infected, as I put in an earlier comment.

His Holiness hasn’t escaped infection, but has been central in propagating the New Theology of Urs von Balthasar, de Lubac, Teilhard de Chardin, and more. An excellent overview of this is found at http://www.waragainstbeing.com/

The basic thread of newThink goes something like this: Man evolved, Genesis is merely a religious story, Original Sin didn’t actually happen, and so no one is actually in danger of damnation. One’s dignity then flows from living out what evolution has dealt you, hence, “gay” is OK. And the new ecumenism, based on the notion that we need to gather all the “seeds of truth” found wherever they may lie, therefore extends to “gays” for their enlightened experience, in addition to Hindus, animists, and whatnot. Hence, Fr. Unni and Cardinal Sean are building the greater dignity of mankind.

And souls can be permanently damaged. God help us, LCIB.

Thankfully, the Catholics are finally starting to getting Jesus’ message right! Unfortunely, this self loathing closet case just doesn’t quite get it…does he? He also knows nothing about scripture.. in most places Jesus himself is aquainted and partying with “the sinners”, yes, the Mary Mags…lets face facts all the right wing religious are BORING as hell! Jesus was the hottest Rabbi around and liked to party with the best of them…thus his first miracle turning water into WINE! Yes, WINE-NOT grape juice!! This guy also knows nothing about Jewish law or tradition.
